Know Your Place West of England
« on: 28 January 2016, 11:33:11 »
Know Your Place West of England is "the digital mapping project that is putting your neighbourhood’s heritage on the map". They have a website that allows you to explore your neighbourhood through historic maps, images and linked information. (Note that you may need to tell your browser to "load unsafe scripts", to get the maps to show)

It is about learning about and sharing information (originally about historic Bristol, but now wider afield). You can choose from a selection of maps and move a slider to fade between them.

There is more information about the old Bristol version on the Bristol City Council website. There are instructions for uploading information.

It was developed by the City Design Group who "help to shape new quality places throughout Bristol and improve the quality of existing neighbourhoods and sites". Community involvement is supported by Design Bristol
