We have been manually colouring in three copies of the tithe maps, using the schedule to illustrate land use, owners and occupiers. This is very time consuming but also enlightening. Our parish shows a real pattern to where meadows and orchards are sited, for example. The owners and occupiers are also interesting, with suggestions of the Medieval strip system. Members of the Society for One-Place Studies can read more about this in the March 2016 issue of Destinations.

Thanks Janet
I do like what you have done - and it is a good reminder that not everything we can do to help understand our places needs software!
