Another thing I would like to be able to do is select a number of maps and aerial views of my village (eg 1887, 1900 and 1925 25 inch maps, and the Bing satellite view), and then be able to see them overlaid over each other (in the same coordinate system) and transition between them easily. (Presumably only two would show at any time.)

This would enable me more easily to envisage how things have changed over the years.

An example of what I envisage is on the NLS website where you can compare maps by fading between them (slider is the blue dot on the left), or side-by-side.
