MapQuest Developer is a mapping environment that developers can use to develop maps. Up to 15,000 transactions per month it is free, but you do need a key.

There are APIs for:
  • Maps
  • Geocoding
  • Directions
  • Search
  • Search Ahead
  • Traffic
To generate a static map you enter a URL with parameters.

We used to use MapQuest as one of the base layers in M4OPS but this is no longer possible (since 11th July 2016), as there is no OpenLayers interface.
