The Hedon Blog starts to do mapping
« on: 28 January 2016, 14:47:20 »
On the Hedon Blog (in Holderness, East Yorkshire) there have been some attempts at mapping, but they seem to no longer work:
  • Mapping Hedon’s Local History where they started to map some of the articles done about the town’s local history - "eventually, the aim will be to provide a service for those with Smartphones and other mobile devices, where you will be able to scan a particular street with your device’s camera, and an App will bring up local stories and articles associated with that particular place/street/building"
  • Mapping Stories, which  shows how local stories can be ‘geo-tagged’ to a particular location
Some of this was in conjunction with talkaboutlocal, who "work with local and national government, commercial organisations, charities and voluntary groups to help form policy around digital skills, participation and inclusion".
