Do It Yourself Digital Mapping
« on: 4 April 2016, 05:41:07 »
St Edmundsbury's Local History website has a whole section entitled Do It Yourself Digital Mapping on how to use free and open source GIS software - particularly QGIS.

There are good introductory articles, and they show how to use the free QGIS tool and available free data to prepare several types of map. The level of mapping is not down to buildings. There is also encouragement for people interested in local geography and history to use QGIS.
